- Reads the relative date text shown by YouTube (e.g., "2 weeks ago")
- Converts it to an exact date format locally in your browser
- Displays the converted date on the page
All processing happens locally on your device. No data is sent to our servers or any third-party services.
Permissions We Request
Our extension requires minimal permissions to function:
- youtube.com access: Required to read and modify date displays on YouTube pages
- Storage: Used to save your preferences locally (date format, theme, etc.)
We request only the permissions absolutely necessary for the extension to work.
Local Storage
Your preferences (such as date format and display settings) are stored locally in your browser using Chrome's storage API. This data never leaves your device and is only used to remember your settings between browsing sessions.
